SMPS Maryland’s 2025-2030 Strategic Plan sets a clear direction for the chapter’s next five years. Informed by extensive member and stakeholder feedback, the plan reflects our commitment to strengthening member value, expanding professional growth opportunities, deepening industry connection, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the chapter.

Developed from a strong base of community input, the strategic plan reflects what members value most about SMPS Maryland today while identifying where the chapter can grow to better serve professionals across the A/E/C industry. The result is a practical roadmap designed to help the chapter remain relevant, engaging, and impactful through 2030.

By 2030, SMPS Maryland will be recognized as a leading regional resource for A/E/C marketing and business development professionals — a chapter known for meaningful connection, practical learning, strong leadership development, and an inclusive community that supports members at every career stage.


Strategic Priorities

Strengthen Member Experience and Engagement

  • Create a more connected, accessible, and personalized chapter experience through stronger onboarding, more intentional networking, and better pathways for ongoing involvement.

Elevate Professional Development and Career Growth

  • Deliver more practical, differentiated programming that supports members across experience levels, with added focus on mentorship, hands-on learning, leadership development, and CPSM support.


Expand Industry Connection, Visibility, and Partnerships

  • Increase client-focused and sector-focused programming, strengthen collaboration with other chapters and industry organizations, and raise awareness of SMPS Maryland as a regional resource.

Build Organizational Sustainability and Chapter Capacity

  • Strengthen volunteer development, committee effectiveness, planning, technology, and sponsorship alignment to support
