Member Spotlight – Isabella Sirkis
December 02, 2020
This month’s spotlight shines on Isabella Sirkis (Bella), Marketing Coordinator & Executive Assistant, CRGA Design
SMPS MD: How long have you been a member of SMPS and what’s your best experience so far?
IS: I have been a member of SMPS for just six months – but I wish I had joined sooner! While at first, I was worried that the ongoing impact of the pandemic would hinder my experience as a first-year member, that has not been the case at all. Since I joined, I have already connected with so many individuals from the organization that have been both encouraging and informative, attended several relevant webinars and started volunteering as an Education Committee Member.
Thus far, the best experience I have had was attending the New Member Orientation Breakfast last month. It was so thoughtfully planned with each of us socially distanced at our own mini breakfast tables, masked up and with hand sanitizer at the ready! I feel so fortunate for the time and effort the SMPS committee leaders put into making us feel welcome, even during this difficult time.
SMPS MD: What is your current job? How long have you been with your company? What do you enjoy most?
IS: I currently work for CRGA Design, a healthcare-focused architecture, interior design and planning firm based out of Baltimore, Maryland. I have been with the CRGA team for a year and a half and have most enjoyed the relationships I have built with our senior leadership and design team. We truly have a great staff, and I am thankful for their words of encouragement and willingness to teach me every day!
SMPS MD: I’m happiest when…
IS: I’m happiest when I can spend a day lounging by my fireplace reading a good book.
SMPS MD: What is your favorite sport or pastime? Do you play/participate or are you a spectator? Why?
IS: My favorite sport—by far—is rowing. I was a varsity club athlete for Florida State University Rowing all throughout my college career, and my time there taught me so much about dedication and what it means to be a part of a team. My teammates on the water have become my teammates in life and to this day I look to them for guidance and support. Row ‘Noles!
SMPS MD: What’s in your refrigerator right now?
IS: Leftover sweet potato pie, a pot of cranberry cider braised beef stew I made over the weekend and a bottle of my favorite Cabernet! Cheers!
SMPS MD: What’s in your Netflix playlist right now?
IS: My current Netflix rotation includes Schitt’s Creek, His Dark Materials, Game of Thrones, Friends, and Queen’s Gambit
