SMPS MD: How long have you been a member of SMPS and what’s your best experience so far?
CW: I’ve been a member since 2003 (I had to look it up!!). I loved my first experience on the Board when I was brand new in the industry, presenting at the Spring Training session, earning my CPSM and attending the regional conferences… but the best experience has been watching work colleagues become real friends.
SMPS MD: What is your professional goal for this year?
CW: This year I’m focusing on my volunteer commitments. I’m the SAME North Atlantic Regional Vice President, on the SAME Baltimore Board and communications for ULI Baltimore so I want to give each activity the full attention it deserves.
SMPS MD: What most excites you about your work and the contribution that you make?
CW: I get so excited about working with our clients and growing Andana! We provide proposal management services and it is so exciting when our clients win new projects. Andana is seven years old this year and as the founder, I love to work with our team to develop better ways of working and helping our clients.
SMPS MD: Tell us about your morning ritual.
CW: Starts with coffee…I start brewing coffee then go outside to take care of my 100 chickens then I usually walk my dogs and spend time Journaling. I’ve used Danielle LaPorte’s Desire Map Planner for six years!
SMPS MD: Do you volunteer? Where?
CW: Since 2013, we have fostered 3-4 dogs a year through Dogs XL Rescue. We paused in 2020 when we adopted our second dog, an Akita /Shepherd mix.
SMPS MD: What was your childhood dream job?
CW: To be an actress on broadway or a Secretary (I wanted to have lots of important papers)
SMPS MD: Guilty pleasure: what can you not live without?
CW: Bridge Lane Wine (it is a little lower octane and ships quickly to Maryland!) and Rise Up Coffee (a friend of mine from Salisbury University started it 16 years ago! it is been our house coffee since then)
SMPS MD: Last vacation?
CW: Visiting my dad in Vero Beach, FL in late 2019… I didn’t travel during 2020.
SMPS MD: What’s your favorite thing to do on Sundays?
CW: Take a hike around our property and do some work outside on our farm.
