Green Apple Day of Service with USGBC
SMPS is working with the U.S. Green Building Council of Maryland to support the Garrett Heights Elementary Middle School on their outdoor classroom and other projects to enhance the school’s outdoor spaces. Volunteers will be helping to add hopscotch & four-square games to the blacktop, finish installing rain barrels in the butterfly garden, plant new flower beds, and add wood chips to the school’s playground. Tools and supplies will be provided, we just ask that volunteers come dressed appropriately and bring plenty of sunscreen and water.
Green Apple Day of Service unites parents, teachers, students, companies and local organizations for volunteer projects that transform our schools into safe, healthy and sustainable learning environments. Join an international movement of nearly a million volunteers in over 70 countries in celebrating the central role that schools play in preparing the next generation of global leaders. Learn More
