In this peer-to-peer discussion, we will share thoughts on how to align the value you bring to a company with your passion and potential in order to fulfill your career goals. Our discussion will cover topics including preparing for performance reviews, navigating options for career paths, and developing skills for negotiation. Together we will explore how establishing more mutually respectful relationships can support an enhanced sense of professional value and authority and become the foundation for professional development. We will shift our thinking of reviews as scary and anxiety-ridden conversations to opportunities to create and strengthen beneficial relationships with management and leadership.
Learning Objectives:
- Explore approaches to recognizing your professional value and aligning it with career paths
- Consider the role of the relationship with managers and leaders to professional success
- Understand how to prepare for reviews, advocate for yourself, and manage emotions
