Many studies confirm that Architecture, Engineering, & Construction are among the most gender disproportionate industries. A 2018 Zweig Group survey highlighted that 87 percent of AEC principals are male and that 100% of women principals have considered leaving the AEC industry, compared with only 47% of men. Luckily, many studies also show that more women are entering and rising to the top levels of companies. The road to a culture of equality of opportunity and fairness requires open and honest conversation amongst everyone. Like with many other aspects of culture, marketers are well situated to help their firms create a culture and brand of inclusion.
Join in this discussion with your peers to explore how the industry and our firm cultures can support a future that better attracts, retains, and promotes a diverse workforce. Anticipated topics include unconscious bias, work-life flexibility, safe and respectful environments, mentoring, promotions and salary gaps, ownership opportunities, and leadership styles.
